The Fast and the Furious debuted in theaters in 2001. And since then, gone on to become one of the most successful film series of all time. All of the awesome car chases, races, and missions have been at the center of pop culture for the last two decades. It seems like it was just yesterday when the first movie dropped. Many of the film’s main stars, such as Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez got their start in the franchise and have since risen to stardom. Let’s take a look at what the Fast & Furious stars are doing now with their lives.
Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz
Since 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, Michelle Rodriguez has played Letty Ortiz. She acted as Dom’s lover who also has a knack for mechanics and high-octane racing. Letty has been a member of the street racing team since the beginning of the franchise, and she’s seen her fair share of twists and turns.
Dom learned that Letty perished after disbanding the crew in Fast & Furious, only to learn in Fast & Furious 6 that she survived a major accident but started working against him after suffering from amnesia.
Michelle Rodriguez – Now
Michelle Rodriguez acted as Ana Lucia Cortez on Lost from 2005 to 2010 after appearing in The Fast and the Furious. She’s also appeared in the Resident Evil series, Blue Crush, Avatar, the big-screen version of S.W.A.T., and other films.
As far as her Fast & Furious storyline was concerned, this is how things played out. Letty and Dom are now married in the eighth film, and they meet Cipher while on their honeymoon.
Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto
Vin Diesel, who played the role of Dom, started as a carjacker. He later became a mechanic and street racer in subsequent parts. Dom is the patriarch of a community of street racers, and after his father’s untimely passing, he is forced to take on the position of primary caregiver.
Auto mechanic was his initial career before moving on to orchestrating carjacking, a multi-million dollar heist, and illegal jobs for government agencies as the boss. Dominic is a gruff, strong man who preaches morality and loyalty and embodies many of the characteristics associated with his position.
Vin Diesel – Now
Vin Diesel played roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy, xXx, and Riddick franchises since his debut as Dom Toretto.
More recently, Dominic Terreto has gone berserk and betrayed his family in The Fate of the Furious, possibly after being seduced by Cipher, played by Charlize Theron. We’re almost sure it takes more than that for Diesel to abandon his teammates.
Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto
Since 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, Jordana Brewster has played Mia Toretto, Dom’s sister and Brian’s longtime love. She’s a fast driver, but she rarely participates in Dom’s heists or races. While Dominic is in Panama, she calls to tell him of Letty’s passing.
She appears at Letty’s funeral and is often seen afterward either persuading Dominic not to put himself in danger or moaning to F.B.I. Agent Brian O’Conner about their previous relationship. They do eventually renew their relationship, as suggested in the film.
Jordana Brewster – Now
Jordana Brewster has had roles in films including Annapolis, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and American Heist.

Eva Mendes appeared in a mid-credits scene in the movie after starring in 2 Fast 2 Furious. She contacts Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and informs him that Michelle Rodriguez’ Leti is alive and well, working for the evil Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), setting up Fast & Furious 6 in 2013.

For a couple of years there, it seemed like Lucas Black was out of the acting industry for good as the jobs didn’t seem to be coming his way. However, there are reports that he’ll reprise the role of Sean in the forthcoming ninth installment – F9.
Elsa Pataky as Elena Neves
In 2011’s Fast Five, Elsa Pataky made her debut as a Brazilian patrol officer Elena Neves, who has a brief love affair with Dom before joining Hobbs at the DSS. She appeared in the series’s following three films, but her character sadly passed halfway through 2017’s The Fate of the Furious.
